The JEL is published quarterly by the American Economic Association The American Economic Association, or AEA, is a learned society in the field of economics. It publishes one of the most prestigious academic journals in economics: the American Economic Review. The AEA was established in 1885 by younger economists trained in the German historical school; since 1900 it has been under the control of academics (AEA) and contains survey articles and information on recently published books and dissertations. The AEA maintains EconLit, a searchable data base of article and book citations classified by JEL subject codes for the years from 1969. Many articles in economics journals also list relevant JEL codes (for example JEL: B12), facilitating their use across search engines A web search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. The search results are generally presented in a list of results and are often called hits. The information may consist of web pages, images, information and other types of files. Some search engines also mine data available in databases or open directories. Unlike Web. A print series is also available from the AEA in its Index of Economic Articles. It currently covers the publication years 1886-1995 in 38 volumes and is indexed by author and subject.[1]
